Chief Financial Officers

Throughout our history, our firm's principals have completed numerous Chief Financial Officer/Controller position searches.

The most recent edition of John Sibbald's book, The New Career Makers, ranks our firm as #9 in the U.S. in terms of effectiveness in recruiting Financial and Accounting Executives.

Our CFO searches have included those on behalf of:  ABC Rail Corporation, Associated Bank, Citicorp (Global Payment Products), Comdisco, Coregis, D&N Savings, D-Vision Systems, Everest Healthcare Corporation, Imperial Components, Marmon Group (multiple searches), Martin Luther King Center, Melson Technologies, Prodigy Services, Pulver Systems, R.R. Donnelley, Sentry Insurance, and Standard Federal.

In our Opinion:
CFO Demand Will Be High in 2002

Like the song says, these are the good old days for CFOs, according to executive recruiter Ralph Dieckmann.  "We anticipate the strong market for senior financial executives to continue for the next 18 months, at least."

As markets shrink, the CEO's focus naturally turns to cost control - protecting the bottom line - away from the marketing mindset which prevails in a boom economy, according to Dieckmann.  "Today's CFOs are in the enviable position of being able to really strut their stuff.  Continuous flux throughout industry means that the CFO is at the center of the action, and able to deploy all the critical programs and analytics required to persevere in a negative economy."

Continuous change also means that more and more people will get a shot at larger assignments, Dieckmann notes.  And those who are innovative and successful can earn the right to stay on.  "We've found that constant industry change is bubbling the best executives to the top, and more quickly.  For financial executives with an open mind, sharp technical skills, and flexibility, the next year will provide ample career opportunities."
